Setting up the smallest room!

11-07-2017 Posted in Interior styles By Eliza De Waele

kleinste kamertjeThe toilet is often the smallest room in the house, still I think it deserves a little attention. It’s a place that’s being visited by guests as well, so it’s nice if it looks good. However, people often consider the smallest room redundant or extra, but in fact it’s the ideal opportunity to unleash your creativity and let yourself go for once. I love it when I open a toilet door and a completely different world appears from it. In this blog you may find some great ideas:

She’s almost there, that beautiful summer!

13-06-2017 Posted in Inspiration By Eliza De Waele

outdoorShe’s already in the air, my favourite season of the year. How I am always longing to that wonderful spring and beautiful summer. The birds that sing, the first warm sun, the spring flowers in all their splendid colours. I come to life 100% in this time of year. In the meantime our daughter was born on the second of February, so this spring I am going out even more to make long walks with her. I am so looking forward to it!

Renovating a staircase, DIY with below tips!

30-05-2017 Posted By Eliza De Waele

Farm stands for authenticity!

Farm Collectie

Now and then, I will try to put a Lamett collection into the spotlight on this blog. Choosing a floor is quite a final and permanent matter. I suppose you don’t want to change your floors yearly ? Coming to such a crucial decision, it makes sense you get all the required information. In other words, it is important to know the characteristics of a floor. Should a floor be especially user-friendly and easy to maintain, rather have a warm look, or be resistant to moisture/water to some extent? These are all kinds of features you should take into account. But of course, the eye wants its part as well. A floor covering is quite a key factor in your living room, it must match perfectly with the style you have in mind.

Decorating a playful kid's room

02-05-2017 Posted By Eliza De Waele

kinderkamer She’s finally here, our little girl! Almost two months old! All the clichés are true: it’s funny how time speeds by! Lucet is named after my boyfriend’s grand-mother. By now she sleeps in her own little room, which I don’t want to keep from you, of course! The very moment I found out I was pregnant, my search on Pinterest was on. I made several folders, and collected all the images I liked. Later on, I made a more distinct selection, because I actually like a lot of different styles, especially when it comes to kid’s rooms. These are areas where you can do your thing, no matter how crazy it is. On the basis of five selected images, I made a list of all the things that I would need in order to actually realise the room. I drew a small ground plan, and together with my boyfriend, we went through it step by step. Ready to get to work! And you should take this literally, because the room used to be our lumber room. In other words, a lot of cleaning up, painting, and filling holes had to be done.

Interior duel: light vs dark

18-04-2017 Posted By Eliza De Waele

duel With the rise of the Scandinavian lifestyle, we embraced the colour white in our living rooms. All the walls, and even floors, we try to keep as light as possible. I am a fan myself, obviously. It brings in the light and it makes it so much easier to decorate a room. When you keep a neutral base, you can add much colour and texture to your furniture and accessories. Yet in 2017, we find that darker colours are gaining in popularity. From night blue to dark wine red, and even black and dark grey are doing very well. If it were you, what would you pick?

Collection in the spotlight: Matisse & Toulouse

21-03-2017 Posted By Eliza De Waele

Matisse & ToulouseWood. We have this connection. It’s such a beautiful product and in its various aspects it can be a true asset to your interior. When I think about wood on the floor, I immediately link it to parquet. This is and will always remain the real deal for me. Personally, a genuine wood floor will always get priority over an imitation product like laminate for instance. Often clients try to approach the look and feel of a wood floor with a laminate, but in my opinion, it’s not the same, laminate is not a natural product, which you will always see somehow. Of course I understand their choice, the price for such materials is much lower, but, honestly, nowadays it’s not that difficult to find a budget-friendly wood floor as well. Great example, Lamett’s ranges Matisse and Toulouse. In terms of quality a very strong product at a very reasonable price.

Interior doors, 5 x different!

07-03-2017 Posted By Eliza De Waele

binnendeurenVery often when I give interior advise people ask me: and what about the doors? Belgians still tend to choose very traditionally. Many among us tend to opt for an ordinary oak door, which in some cases is a good call. But nowadays there are so many other beautiful options! Find some remarkable door ideas below:

japanThe traditional Japanese architecture and lifestyle is for many architects a source of inspiration. The fascination that we Westerners have for Eastern interior design is easy to explain: peace, space, serenity, silence and keen eye for detail. These are elements for which we, in the hasty Western, secretly long for. How can you reach this at home? Let me try to explain today.
