January 2013 - Domotex 2013: the report

Domotex is the world leading fair for the floor covering industry ranging from carpets, hardwood flooring, laminate, adhesives and fibers.

During the 4 days of the fair we have been able to show our products to a diverse audience of buyers, architects and interior designers.

For Lamett this was a successful edition, new contacts were established and existing relations were confirm. This is already a good beginning of 2013.

October 2012 - Check regularly the relative humidity

Wooden flooring and wood in general searches for the perfect balance with its environment (moisture level) and will reject or absorb moisture until a perfect balance is reached. A too high or too low relative humidity will influence the floor causing extreme shrinking or expanding of the wood.

Studies have proven that a constant relative humidity in the room is best between 45% and 60% and the room temperature between 18°C and 21°C .

When the heating is turned on during colder months, the relative humidity in the room will drop considerably. Often this is largely under 45%, which causes the wood to dehydrate with possible cracks and splits as a consequence. In case of a too high relative humidity, the wood will expand and the floorboards will move up. This happens mostly in more warmer periods. The damage caused can be irreversible.

Did you know that not only your wooden floor benefits from a constant relative humidity, but also your family, flowers and plants?

Nevertheless a minimum of effort is needed to control the relative humidity with a humidifier or dehumidifier. There are different models on the market, you can always contact us if you need help with selecting the most proper type for your house, via info@lamett.eu.

August 2012 - How to rejuvenate your oiled wooden floor!

Does your oiled wooden floor look dull? Are there stains and strips all over? Don’t panic, below you can find some tips to rejuvenate your floor.

The first step is to remove the dirt with a wood cleaner, afterwards the protective layer is restored by the application of a maintenance oil.

May 2012 - Under floor: Moist & Sound Protect

Lamett ‘Moist & Sound Protect’ is the ideal combination of an acoustic underlay with an integrated moisture barrier . Perfect for all laminate and wooden floor types when they are being installed floating. This under floor is 2,5 mm thick and levels unevenness in the subfloor. Because of the integrated tape on the overhang the rows can easily be attached together.

June 2011 - Installation of parquet on floor heating: Is this possible?

Can you install parquet on floor heating? A question often asked, mostly answered differently. The answer is unambiguous positive, when specific requirements are met.

Below you can find a description of these requirements:

1. Since parquet on floor heating has an non-conductive effect a maximum thickness of 15 mm is advised. When your parquet is thicker than 15mm, you might have problems: you risk that the floor heating needs to be increased to generate sufficient heat.

2. When you glue down the parquet you avoid that a non-conductive layer is formed between the parquet and the floor heating. This is the case with floating installation when you only glue in the tongue and groove.

June 2011 - Take the relative humidity into account!

When you install parquet it is important to take the relative humidity of the room into account. Relative humidity (abb. RV) stands for the percentage of moisture in the air. The ideal RV is between 45-65%. If the RV is lower than 45% the parquet might shrink, if the RV is higher than 65% the parquet can expand. Both situations are harmful for the health and look of your floor. Also keeping the RV tot the mark falls within the scope of your responsibility as end consumer.

To measure the relative humidity you can use a hygrometer, to keep/bring the RV to the mark you can purchase a humidifier. A small cost, but definitely worth it.

June 2011 - Oiled parquet, an excellent choice!

Often people think that an oiled parquet comes with intensive and difficult maintenance. This however is a misunderstanding. For Lamett oiled parquet it is sufficient for weekly and yearly maintenance to mop with the suited maintenance soap. Also an oiled parquet is easy to rejuvenate, when there are signs of wear, pollution and such. In 95 % of the cases the floor can be rejuvenated without being re-sanded. In this respect we strongly advise the collections Louvre, Palace, Royal and Medoc 5G.

May 2011 - Lamett movie removed from website by French TV channel TF1

Lamett has sponsored the TV-show ‘Tous ensemble’ of the French TV Chanel TF1. This show supports a family with financial problems by helping them with the renovation or finishing of their house. For this they ask the help of sponsors and volunteers. Lamett supplied the family of Villeselve a Bolero laminate floor for the entire first floor. The compilation of the episode that was broadcasted on TF1 earlier, and that was until recently on our website, was removed on authority of the French TV channel. Since our goal was to help these people we will not resist this action of TF1.

May 2011 - Lamett aims for Asia

Asia is one of Lamett’s targets. During the recent fair Domotex Asia, everything was in token of the Chinese consumer. Lamett has there already an important position on the basis of a network of shops. Thanks to innovation linked with European trends, the Chinese consumer experiences Lamett as something new/refreshing. See for yourself what we really mean by watching the movie of the most recent fair. This was made in view of promoting Lamett in Asia.

April 2011 - The Belgian-European pavilion Shanghai Expo 2010

In 2010 Lamett was the official sponsor of the Belgian-European pavilion during the Shanghai World Expo. More than 7 million visitors walked over our laminate floor (Bolero) during this Expo. View here some images.

April 2011 - Lamett commits to sustainable energy

Lamett chooses to use sustainable energy and announces the successful installation of solar panels on the rooftop of its Belgian offices. This installation is part of the renovation project of the new offices and distribution centre of Lamett Europe (Belgium). The renewable energy that is generated is estimated at 450 KVA, this is enough to provide the energy requirements of 90 Belgian households.

March 2011 - Lamett presents its products at Domotex Asia

Lamett has been showing its products on an international exhibition in Asia, this is a trade fair for floor dealers from all over the world. This event took place in Shanghai and approx 40.000 visitors did attend. Lamett was pleased with the positive reactions. Many designers and architects have shown high interest in ranges such as Medoc 5G, Bolero, Louvre, Palace and Royal.

March 2011 - With a Lamett bus in Shanghai!

Lamett had this year during the annual show “Domotex Asia” a private Lamett bus to serve the Lamett dealers. People reacted very positive!

March 2011 - Sales meeting Lamett Spain

The annual sales meeting of the Spanish department of Lamett was held in Madrid this year. The sales team of 16 persons was gathered to study our new products.

January 2011 - Lamett vybavil 5hvězdičkový španělský hotel parketovou podlahou

Všechny pokoje a chodby překrásného hotelu na severu Španělska a části jeho restaurace se pyšní parketovou podlahou Planation Sculpted. Tyto parkety jsou natřeny fermeží AD48, což je velice pomalu schnoucí nátěr, který dřevu dodá přirozený vzhled. V tomto zcela specifickém případě se zákazník rozhodl pro ručně broušenou podlahu, která se výborně hodí k rustikální eleganci hotelu. Výsledek je mimořádný. Až již se Vám tento odstín líbí nebo nikoliv, je zřejmé, že podlaha a okolí spolu vytvořily jediný celek! Kromě toho je zákazník nadšen jednoduchou údržbou. Jednoduché, rychlé, odolné!

January 2011 - Lamett nabízí mimořádně širokou kolekci s názvem “Royal”

Ve svém distribučním a produkčním středisku v belgickém městě Deerlijk bude společnost Lamett v roce 2011 vyrábět rovněž mimořádně široké parkety. Kolekce Royal se pyšní majestátností královské podlahy (což lze též jednoduše odvodit z jejího názvu): evropský dub, šířka 220 mm, horní vrstva 6 mm, konečná úprava oxidačním olejem.

January 2011 - Lamett jako sponzor belgického pavilonu během veletrhu Expo Šanghaj 2010

Společnost Lamett byla jedním ze sponzorů belgického pavilonu během veletrhu Expo v roce 2010: Jako podlahová krytina velké části belgického pavilonu sloužil laminát BOLRO (BOL 286). Během několika měsíců se po něm prošlo více než 6 milionů návštěvníků. Každý byl nadšený z těchto "lakovaných parket", které byly k všeobecnému překvapení pouhou laminátovou podlahou. I z technického hlediska se tato podlahová krytina ve velice těžkých podmínkách výborně osvědčila! Jedná se odolný laminát do obchodních prostor se skutečnou strukturou dřeva (jejíž technický název zní "synchronní struktura dřeva").

February 2010 - Lamett otevírá evropské distribuční centrum ve městě Deerlijk

Jedna z nejstarších značek laminátových a parketových podlah na světě, Lamett, dokončila investici na vlámském území. Ve městě Deerlijk (u dálnice E17) bylo dokončeno a otevřeno distribuční centrum a výrobní jednotka. Od této doby se z tohoto místa budou do různých evropských zemí rozvážet podlahy.
